Registrations open for the Cursa dels Nassos 2023 in Barcelona

The Cursa dels Nassos has opened the registration period through its website www.cursadenassos.barcelona , offering a maximum of 10.000 picks, in the last 3 editions inscriptions have sold out. People who register during the month of July or August will enter the draw for different gifts from the sponsors that will be communicated on their own website and social networks.

David Escudé, Councillor for Sports at Barcelona City Council, has encouraged everyone to participate in this very special sporting event: "Ending the year by running the Cursa dels Nassos is a classic in our city for thousands of runners, but going out to cheer and enjoy this sports festival is also a tradition for many people. We are sure that this new edition will be fast, intense and very exciting. Don't miss it!". During the weeks before the competition, face-to-face training will be scheduled, and different preparation plans organized by level and designed by running professionals can also be followed through the web.

The excellent climate, a flat route indicated every 500 meters, the 29 pacemaker, the high level of athletes and the tradition of ending the year in Barcelona by running always help to achieve great marks, both at the level of elite as popular. In the 2019 edition, before the pandemic, it was the European 10 kilometre race with the most runners who reached the finish line in under 40 minutes, exceeding 1.100 people.

The last winners (2022 edition) were, in the men's category, Mohamed El Ghazouani with 28'46 and Adam Majó with 28'48. In the women's category, the Catalan athlete Meritxell Soler did 32'31, ahead of Marta Galimany with 32'36.

In 2020, the champions were the French Mohamned Amdouni, with 27'42 (2nd best European mark of all time), and the Kenyan athlete Hellen Obiri, world champion, with 30'53 (the best mark of the history in a 10 kilometer race in Catalonia).

As is tradition, the Cursa dels Nassos will be held on December 31 at 5:15 p.m. with a fast 10 kilometer course. The race is part of the Championchip League and is organized by Barcelona City Council, with the executive management of La Sansi and Motorpress.

Once again, as in previous editions, there will also be an international 5 km race starting at 7:00 p.m. and where the world records in the men's and women's categories were set in 2021, still in force.
