Ejgayehu Taye achieves the second best world record in history in the Cursa dels Nassos
The Ethiopian Ejgayehu Taye, who last year achieved the 5K world record in the Cursa dels Nassos with 14:19, has been on the verge of improving her own feat, achieving the second best record in history in the distance with 14 :twenty-one. His most direct rival, Konstanze Klosterhalfen, has broken the German record with 14:52 and is fifth in the continental ranking of all time, just one second behind Paula Radcliffe and eight behind the European record (14:44, Sifan Hasan). Klosterhalfen has taken revenge from the last European cross country championship as the Norwegian star Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal finished in third place (15:06). One of the big news has been starred by the first Spanish, Esther Guerrero (15:50), who is fourth in the national ranking of all time, demonstrating that her recovery from her injury is now complete.
In the men's category, the bad news arrived shortly before the start, since it was known that Jakob and Filip Ingebrigtsen had fallen ill and could not compete. Thus, the test was left wide open and the Ethiopian Adisu Girma did not miss his opportunity to enter the list of winners of the Cursa dels Nassos. A strong attack in the last kilometer was enough for him to prevail with 13:25, ahead of a brave Ilias Fifa, who with 13:30 broke the record for Catalonia and placed third in the Spanish ranking of all time after Ouassim Oumaiz and Mo Katir. The third classified in the 5K test was the Swiss Jonas Raess, who pulverized his best performance with 13:31.

10K: Triumphs for Soler and El Ghazouany
The traditional 10-kilometre test, in which the Barcelona 92 goalkeeper, Antonio Rebollo, has given the starts in waves, has had 10,000 participants. In the men's category, the 27-year-old Moroccan Mohamed El Ghazouany has won, who with 28:46 has pulverized his personal best, 30:35, which he had achieved in this same test in 2019. They have completed the podium for the Spanish Àdam Maijó, who has also run faster than ever over this distance (his best time was 28:59) and the Moroccan Abderrahim Ougra (29:18), who, how could it be otherwise, has broken the 29:40 he signed in Barcelona on December 31, 2019.
In the women's race, Meritxell Soler repeated her 2020 victory, who with 32:31 has lowered her personal best by three seconds, beating Marta Galimany (32:36), who has shown that her recovery after achieving the Spanish marathon record has been prodigious. Far behind them, in third place, was Mireia Guarner (34:13), who, since she couldn't be any other way in this fast race, has also lowered her personal best.
